Welcome to the Faculty of Law at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin – a beacon of legal education where academic excellence, moral integrity, and societal impact converge. Established in 2012 with the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Council of Legal Education (CLE), our Faculty has swiftly emerged as a distinguished center for legal scholarship, commencing academic activities in October 2015. Guided by the University’s motto, “Learning for Wisdom and Morality,” we are committed to shaping legal minds that uphold justice, champion ethical values, and drive transformative change in Nigeria and beyond.
Our Faculty is structured to deliver a robust and dynamic legal education through three specialized departments: Common Law, Public and International Law, and Private and Business Law. These departments offer comprehensive programs designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and ethical grounding needed to excel in diverse legal careers. From Constitutional Law to Jurisprudence, Company Law to Human Rights, our curriculum blends rigorous academic training with practical applications, ensuring our graduates are not only scholars but also advocates for justice and societal progress.
